January’s class was a hit! It went even better than I’d hoped! All of the ladies seemed to truly enjoy themselves, and the fellowship was amazing!
I was so encouraged to see so many young girls trying their hand at using a sewing machine and hand stitching a quilt! And it touched my heart so much as I watched older women leaning over the shoulders of the younger women, teaching them different things. It was just exactly what I’d imagined it would be!
Laughter and friendly conversation filled the room as mothers watched over and taught their daughters, as strangers became instant friends, and as young women absorbed the knowledge being passed down to them. I loved it.
We had a girl who was 8 years old sitting across from a woman in her 30’s, both of which had never before used a sewing machine! And they both did fantastic! I was so proud that they jumped right in and gave it a go!
We learned how to pin, sew quarter-inch seams, use a quilting frame, quilt around appliques, and so on and so on. In the meantime, we also got to try out some recipes of homemade dips that were brought (DELICIOUS)! I mean, everywhere you turned, there was just something to smile about! I could write more, but I just don’t think anything less than pictures could really do the night justice! So here are some pictures that got taken throughout the evening. Every time I look through them, it makes me so eager for February’s class!! Hope you enjoy looking through them as much as I do!
