Homemaking Skill Sets: 2020 Schedule!

Where can I even begin? We are preparing for our end of the year party for our Homemaking Skill Sets Classes, and as I am able to look back at pictures from this year, I am just blown away at how wonderful of a year it has been.  The friendships that have grown are so near to my heart.  The ways that I have been touched by so many phone calls or messages from women telling me things like, after the bread-making class their daughters made braided bread for an elderly couple at their church, or that their mother finally pulled out her quilting stand after so many years because she so enjoyed the quilting class, or that they as a family are loving making their own brown sugar.  The smiles on women’s faces as they’ve thanked others for helping them troubleshoot their mayonnaise-making, or their canning woes, or their gardening techniques.  I have so loved watching mothers teach their daughters things like how to thread a sewing machine, or how to hold an icing bag.  I have gotten to sit back and watch women walk around outside trying to identify herbs, as they laugh and tell stories to each other, new friendships budding, or old friendships reminiscing.  I have seen young girls sitting side-by-side with an elderly woman, both of them attempting something totally new for the first time.  It’s been amazing.  All of it has just been such a blessing for all of us, and especially me.  I am so thankful that the Lord has allowed us this opportunity.  “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights…”

And what could make all of this any better?  Getting to do it for a second year!  We have just released our Homemaking Skill Sets schedule for 2020, and I couldn’t be more excited!  We have lots of new classes, and a few that, while we will be doing the same topic as the previous year, it will be with a different spin.  For example, last year’s soap making class was basically all observation.  This year, the women at each table will be making their own bars of soap!  Hands-on is always so much more fun, if you ask me!

And so, here it is: the schedule for the upcoming year!!  I hope that as you look over it, you will get as excited as I am about it!

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;  That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Titus 2: 3-5
